I'm just going to confess right now that in my 24 years of living I've never had a surf and turf before visiting Sandstone Grillhouse. I've recently become a big fan of steak, and what a better time to get my first surf and turf than during our family trip to Niagara Falls.
I used the reservations feature through Yelp to book us a time slot for a smooth seating process since we had our 5 month old in tow. We arrived right on time and were seated right away by our extremely friendly waiter. We started off with the calamari appetizer and a couple drinks. I got a Mai Thai and it was also my first time trying one of those. It was so good! I can definitely see myself ordering several Mai Thais in the future, and hopefully they're as good as the one I had at Sandstone. The calamari was also perfectly crispy and had a great texture.
Now on to the literal meat and potatoes of the meal. I got the special, which was a 10 oz NY strip with veggies, potatoes, and three shrimp on a skewer to top it off. My boyfriend got the ribeye with the lobster tail, and that also came with veggies and potatoes. We were so excited to cut into our steaks and were pleased to see they were both cooked to our liking. He's more of a medium-well guy and I prefer medium-rare, and we were definitely happy with how our steaks were prepared.
One of the biggest highlights of our meal was the friendliness of the staff. We probably had at least 5 different staff members tell us how adorable our son was (a key to an amazing tip). Also, we had the perfect balance of attention from staff without feeling overwhelmed during our meal. All in all, it was a great and memorable dining experience, and we wouldn't hesitate to come back next time we're in the Niagara Falls area! -

While driving to Niagara Falls from NYC, my husband told me to look up good places to eat around 8-9PM. This was one of the places tripadvisor suggested and other reviewers seemed to like so we tried to come here (we departed NYC kind of late so arrival time would vary depending on customs). And thus, we became the people who came at 8:25PM when they were gunna close at 9PM (we're sorry! but we were hungry and the menu sounded delicious). But they still welcomed us with smiles which is awesome.
We ordered around 8:40PM and our food came relatively quickly. We ordered the bruschetta which sorta reminds us of a pizza (but I suppose a fancier version?), the NY strip (delicious), filet mignon (also very good according to my husband and uncle Stephen), alfredo with chicken (a very filling portion size) and shrimp and sausage penne. I think overall, we were very satisfied with our meal - especially since we were hungry after a long drive from NY to Canada. The waiter we had was also super friendly and attentive. I really can't complain. The first meal I had in Canada was certainly one of the best during my short stay at Niagara Falls. -

We came for a vacation in the Niagara falls and look for something to eat, after looking at several restaurants in yelp we found this place and decide to take our chance and try it and let me tell you weren't disappointed
The place is quite and friendly the atmosphere is calming the waitress were kind and friendly and the food was amazing I ordered the rib eye steak who was grilled perfectly maybe needed a little bit more salt but it totally Self-preference my dad ordered fish and chips and got the biggest fried fish I have ever seen and it tasted delightful

Loved my visit! Scrolling through YELP to find a place to eat down by the falls, and came across this place. Located close to Lundy's Lane, you only need a brief stroll to get here.
We sat on the patio as the weather was nice and our server immediately greeted us. He was kind and very knowledgeable, told us all the specials right away with great detail. You get complimentary garlic bread here which I absolutely LOVED as it as perfectly soft on the inside and hard on the outside. Now on to the main courses...
1) Ribeye Steak
Tender and juicy, and pretty big portion. Nothing special but solid sear and portion.
2) Seafood Fettuccine
This one I loved!! Seafood portions weren't bad, shrimps were huge and got a couple of tiny scallops here and there. The sauce was perfectly creamy and noodles were al dente. This place gave me a newfound appreciation for the art of cooking noodles at just the right temperature and time.
3) Fish and Chips
HOLY GUACAMOLE! The fish portions here were humongous! Fish was so juicy and man, it was bigger than my face. Batter was delicious, and my sister highlighted the coleslaw. Cuts on fries were thick.
4) Seafood Special
Today's fish of the day was salmon and it came on a bed of rice. Nothing too special about this dish, just your typical cut of fish. It came with a soup of the day that was DELICIOUS. Very hearty!
The yelp code worked which allowed us to save $15 (amazing!!!!). It was pricey, but I mean, you come to Niagara to splurge so eat a good meal! All in all, I would say it's your typical western grillhouse and that the food is consistent. It wasn't crazily good, but did not disappoint. -

This restaurant never fails! Consistently good and always great service! We have been coming to Niagara Falls, Canada for several years now and we always make sure we stop here for dinner at least once during our stay!
The French Onion Soup is absolutely amazing! So cheesy and full of flavor!! A must have each visit!
The Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo prepared with double smoked bacon, roasted sweet onion and a Grana Padano parmesan cream sauce is so delicious and full of flavor! You just can't stop twirling your fork!
My husband loves the Housemade Spinach Gnocchi prepared with
roasted red pepper and tarragon with a Chèvre cream sauce.
The couple we dined with on our last visit enjoyed the Lasagna and Shrimp & Sausage Penne prepared with a marinara sauce, black tiger shrimp, hot Italian sausage, roasted red peppers, red onion & sweet bell peppers.
You will not leave here feeling hungry!! A must visit!! :)
